What should I put in my cover letter? Your cover letter should include your name, age and/or year, major, and a short biography.
Will I always receive feedback/edits? Almost every piece that is published by Archway has received extensive feedback from our editorial team. In regards to artwork, feedback, and edits are handled on a case-by-case basis
What if I don't want feedback/edits on my piece? If you don’t want editorial feedback, we cannot guarantee that it’ll be accepted for publication.
Can I get an extension? You can get an extension upon request.
When do you release the issues? Issues are released bi-annually; we release them in the fall and spring.
How do I know my submission has been received? Within a week or two after the final deadline you should receive an email from us regarding your submission.
Can I submit something that has been published or exhibited elsewhere? To maintain the originality of our publication, we only consider unpublished work that has not appeared in print or online, including pieces published on a personal account/website.
If my piece is published under Archway, can I submit it somewhere else too? We ask that you refrain from submitting the same pieces to other publications while they are under consideration with us. Note that you can submit previous schoolwork for our publication.
Can I submit a piece that is not in English? We welcome pieces in other languages; however our editorial team can only make edits to pieces in languages in which they are fluent.
Can I use AI? We will not accept submissions that use AI to edit or write the piece. We want to publish work that exemplifies the craft.
What is your academic integrity policy? We want to publish original work, plagiarism will not be accepted.
