Dreamer at Heart
Mars Angulo
| We always seem to rot away
Always daydreaming
Because it’s best to live in my head.
Lying still on my bed
With no body, just mind.
Sun ray kisses–
Peek through the sheers–
Warm and golden on my skin.
That —
Just might be worth living for…
Maybe I could yearn for more, But I
remain in my mind, as nothing.
Safe to say —
I've never been alive.
So, I’ll stay in my linens and
whites, Until I’m out of days.
A dreamer hopes it could last forever.

But true rest only comes
once, Just never soon
enough...
